Sergio Sáez
Born in Bilbao the 11th September 1954 in a family of photographs and artists since three generations. Study art and photography with Profesor Eichheim. Since year 2000 exhibit regularly his work all Europe through. Works and lives at Ibiza island.
Sergio’s work is technically the combination of oil paint with water acrylic paint. This technic has been develop since more than 20 years getting a very special final result. The textures are complex, but with a very intense attraction for the observer. Literary inspiration comes from the classic greek and mediterranean culture as well, mainly his mythology.
Sergio has work in permanent exhibition at Museum of Art & History of Durango (Spain) and at National Museum of Photography at Zarauz (Spain). His work is also in many important private art collections in all Europe as London, Paris, Como (Italy), Florence, Siena, Prato, Marseille, Istanbul, Barcelona, Madrid, Bilbao, Santander, a.s.o.
He has exhibited at Berlin, Madrid, Bilbao, Ibiza, Barcelona, Istanbul, a.s.o. He has been introduced in several exhibitions by Profesor Peter Iden (Founder and first director of Frankfurt Museum der Moderne Kunst), also by director of Museum Modern Art at Santander and actually gallery dealer Mr. Fernando Zamanillo, and finally by National literature award Mr. Juan Cruz and vice director of El Pais newspaper as well.
Has been selected three times for Istanbul Bienal of Modern Art.
Sergio has two main fields of work, oil painting on linen canvas and photography. In both fields with a strong personality has develop own way to walk through abstract and his limits.
Paint with photograph vision, and photographs with painter technic and vision.
